    “The Best Walking tours!”

Garry is awesome! What a fun, informative and delicious way to see New York. It was like having a friend in New York. The history of the city told in a fun and interactive way. The combo-tours are great! Bring comfortable shoes and your appetite! The sampling of different cuisines was so cool. Garry goes above and beyond..not only did he help us learn directions to our other destinations but assisted us in finding wonderful restaurants etc. We did two combo tours and they were a blast and highlights of my trip.

    “Best way to get around”

signed up for the Food tour of China Town and it was excellent! Our guide Alex took our group of 5 around and gave us great bits of history and even better bits of food. It was a really great way to see a part of the city and enjoy the food. by the end of the tour we were so full and happy, made some great new friends and learned about some gems to check out on our next visit.
I will most definitly be booking a 2nd tour next time I'm in the city.

    “HELL'S KITCHEN/CENTRAL PARK WALKING TOUR”

We did the Hell's Kitchen - Central Park combo. It was just fab! Our guide was really friendly and easy to get on with. She was so knowledgeable, especially with my awkward questions such as "why does Broadway run at a diagonal?" We had some free samples at a selection of restaurants with lots of helpful input from our guide. Then a short stroll to Central Park (there was a wedding going on!) and finishing up at Strawberry Fields.
Great way to spend an afternoon - thoroughly recommended!

    “Greenwich Village and Downtown”

I had such a fun time with Nancy on the culinary tour in Greenwich tVillage that I stayed on the tour and went on the downtown one as well--very fun and informative and Nancy took very good care of us. I then booked the entire family for the Hell's Kitchen Culinary Tour which was historically interesting and delicious (be sure you go hungry!!!!) Alex did a great job! Can't wait to get back to NYC for another one!!!

“I've been telling everyone about this.”

What a stress-free, informative, fun way to see New York! Garry is a gem, full of odd facts, unique stories, and true New York attitude. We were fortunate enough to take two tours, a walking tour of Times Square and a food tour of Greenwich Village. Both were fabulous. The food was tried was varied and always fabulous. We had two adults and two teenagers in our group and all were thoroughly entertained. The pace was perfect, slow enough to see and learn but quick enough to avoid boredom. Because Garry makes sure the groups are small, we were always able to hear and see with no trouble. Garry got to know us quickly and threw in little facts and stories he knew we'd like. He really personalized the experience for us and made us feel like friends rather than clients.

    “Great tour!”

We were looking for something to do when my parents came to visit. We had an awesome tour with Garry through Greenwich Village. He managed to keep my parents and my teens interested and engaged, and even found gluten free food for me. (And it was tasty!!!) What a great way to spend an afternoon! We will definitely be back.

“Excellent! Can't wait to do it another one!”

I went on the High Line and Greenich Village Tour with a friend and we had a blast. Gary was an entertaining, knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humor. We enjoyed the small group size and the ability to have our questions answered and I can't say enough about the delicious food :) We made friends with people the group and had a great time. I did not want the tour to end! I can't wait to return to NYC and do another tour with this company. Highly Recommended!!

My family took a girls trip to NYC for my mom's 60th birthday, but I have been to NYC at least 4-5 times previous. Out of everything we did (and we did and walked, A LOT) the Manhattan Walking Tour through historic Times Square & Greenwich Village was the most outstanding. First of all, it's not your average "city tour." They only do small groups so everyone has a well-rounded experience - and it's off the beaten path. Luckily, we had Alex Drywa as our tour guide...he was absolutely amazing and so much fun! We not only had great food, but got to make a lot of pit stops along the way (It didn't take long for Alex to realize that rustic bars were our sweet spot). I also loved all of the behind-the-scenes stories that Alex told along the way! Honestly, I will do a food tour everytime I go back to NYC - it will be different every time. THANK YOU ALEX! Can't wait to come back.

I have been to New York many times and had no idea. I had walked down streets and by buildings with no clue of their history and stories. I learned so much and will always remember the tour of Times Square, Greenich Village and Downtown. I am not sure which one was best..they were all great. Alex made our trip so awesome. We now have a new friend in the city...Alex at Manhattan Walking Tour!

I'm a New Yorker but I had some friends come into town from Canada, so i decided to accompany them on two Manhattan Walking Tours: Times Square and Greenwich Village. I thought a little history lesson regarding these two neighborhoods wouldn't hurt. Well, I had a blast! Alex had a great back story on the sights of Times Square and Garry kept me amazed, amused, and well-fed on the Greenwich Village segment of the tour. When I asked him what the delicious dish was that i was munching, he answered with a twinkle in his eye, "If I tell you, I'll have to kill you." Ahh, I love New York!

The times square tour is so interesting. You could walk through the area a million times but with tour the area is imbibed with rich details and colourful stories!!!
Gary and his guides are top notch! Luv Alex too!

“I trust no one else except for Uncle Garry”

Coming from the greater New York area, I thought I knew everything about NYC. Garry reminded me, NYC is an ever evolving City with rich history and a richer future. Uncle Garry as I liked to refer to him on the tour, made my group and I feel like true New Yorkers. Telling us, showing us, and feeding us (literally the food on the tour was amazing) the best The Village has to offer. It also helped my group consisted of me and two Australian Super Models.
    Thanks Garry!!

I have done three tours now with Gary and Alex and I can't wait to do another! I can't tell you how much I have learned about the city and how much delicious food I've eaten thanks to them :)
These guys not only really, really know their stuff, they are engaging and incredibly fun! Seeing them get excited about the history and culture of New York City, you can't help but get excited too! I'm a New Yorker and I have done several tours of my city but I theirs are, by far, my favorites ever. Book 'em. You won't regret it.

My mother and I had the pleasure of taking a tour of Times Square and Greenwich Village with Garry just before Thanksgiving. We were with a group of only 6 people and every one of us was made to feel included. The food- WOW! My daughters (who live in NYC) talk about the great places to eat all the time and Garry's tour didn't disappoint! The website says 'it's like having a friend in New York' and that is the absolute truth. Garry is the funny and interesting friend who you're very lucky to have showing you the city! Can't wait to come back and take another tour with this great company!

Did the Greenwich Village walking/food tour today with Garry. Best 2 hours spent in NYC without a cocktail in my hand! The history, the food, and the company can't be beat. Garry is engaging, witty, and incredibly knowledgeable. He makes NYC come alive. Do not hesitate to sign up for any of the walking tours, you won't be sorry.

Alex gave a great tour of Times Square yesterday. He was Informative, correctly paced, handled tour group diversity and was very passionate about the stops on the tour. We really enjoyed it. Hope to tour again next year. Well worth your time and money!

I took the Times Square and Hells Kitchen food tour yesterday and enjoyed both so much!
I actually work in TImes Square but didn't know about the history behind it. Alex was our guide, and I found it to be very informative and engaging. Instead of reciting facts and dates, he told stories about the rich history and culture of Manhattan.
The food tour of Hells Kitchen, which I did after the walking tour of Times Square was delicious. By the end, I was so full. Due to Hells Kitchen diverse neighborhood, we got to experience a variety of food from Mediterranean to Latin American to Cajun and Japanese.
This was the second tour I've done in the city. I liked the other one I went on, but it pales in comparison to what i learned and experienced on this tour.
Definitely book a tour with Manhattan Walking Tour. You will learn so much!

Having recently moved to NYC, this tour was a lot of fun and my friends and I learned a lot about our city and the types of food that we have available right outside of our front door. Garry was an awesome tour guide who made everyone feel comfortable and accommodated (he made arrangements for the vegetarian on our tour). All of the food was delicious and I will definitely stop back at some of the restaurants when I get the chance! Also, if I ever get the chance to take another tour from this company, I will do so in a heartbeat.

Manhattan Walking Tours - you guys show the utmost in professionalism and got us to see the true beauty of New York City; Thank you.

I had the opportunity to undertake two walking/ foodies tours. The first tour was of the High Line and Greenwich Village with Alex. It was a sensational way to spend the morning, get an understanding of the history and development of both places, taste some delicious food and meet some lovely fellow travellers. Alex made the experience fun, interesting and memorable. His manner was friendly and he was so flexible in meeting the individual needs of the group members The small size of the group made it comfortable, easy to ask questions and entertaining.
As I had some extra time in New York, I approached MWTan class="RadEWrongWord" id="RadESpellError_0">MWT company the following week to see what was on offer on the day I was free. Garry graciously agreed to organise a tour of the Hells Kitchen District and Central Park just for me. We set out the following day and I spent four delightful hours walking, sampling a range of amazing food in the Hells Kitchen District and being informed about the history and culture of both places. It was great to get such an informhumourousight of the area by a New Yorker. Garry's warm, humourous and inclusive nature made the afternoon a memorable one.

MWTne-height: 19px;">A huge thank you to Garry and Alex, both stand out guides. I will definitely be recommending MWT to all my family and friends in Australia travelling to NYC.

Took the Chinatown and Historic downtown combined tour for a great deal on a four hour tour with my wife and son. Gary keeps the group sizes small so you don't have to worry abouMWTearing or following the "umbrella". The tour was equal parts facts, food and humor. Very entertaining as well as educational and we will certainly do another tour with MWT next time we are in New York. He went out of his way to tailor the information sharing to our requests. And I am still dreaming about the dumplings.....

We had an absolutely delightful time exploring the eclectic art, wildly varied architecture, and natural beauty along the High Line, and then treat after delicious, surprising treat while we traversed Greenwich Village. Our friendly, deeply knowledgeable, and flexible guide, Nancy Paris, was just terrific. She made history and culture come alive for all of us--several out-of-towners and one New York resident who loved getting to know some hidden sides of the city (and discovering great restaurants that we are sure to revisit). Unexpected architectural marvels, yummy food, fresh air, quirky beauty, and the chance to learn a vast amount in a most enjoyable way--I highly recommend the Manhattan Walking Tour experience. Nancy and her colleagues are clearly pros--relaxed, smart, and engaging.

My wife & I arrived at NYC with the intention of taking a 9 hour bus tour of the city. We figured it was the best way to see NYC, since we weren't going to be there but for a long weekend. We went into the Time Square Visitor's Center and met Garry. We immediately liked him & could tell that his tour would be enjoyable. He told us walking was the best way to experience the city. Boy was he right. The information, relaxed atmosphere, and the food were all exceptional. We enjoyed his enthusiasm & love for the city. It was a great tour & we were so glad we bumped into Garry!! We would go on another tour with him in a heartbeat!

Taking the Chinatown food tour with Gary was a great experience. He brought us to a lot of great places with a wide variety of food samples. The small group of us really did give us the feeling that "Uncle Gary" was showing us around the neighborhood with his fun stories and extensive knowledge about the city that you will not find in a guidebook. This tour is for people that like the intimate setting of being in a small group rather than being in a pack of tourists. I would recommend Gary's tours to people who like to eat and learn a little more about the city.

No better way to see New York.
This was our first time in New York as a family and we wanted to see as much as possible in a short time. We would never have found these places on our own and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Alex was really easy company, we forgot we were on a tour.
Will definitely take in a a MWTour on our next trip just hope its not too long before we are back.

Best Tour in NY!!! My husband and I visited NY in early December for our anniversary. I have been to NY before, but this was hubby's first time so I wanted to take a tour that would show him a lot of the city. My parents had recently visited the city and took a tour with Manhattan Walking Tours, their guide was Alex. They couldn't stop raving about it so when it was time to plan our trip I emailed them to set something up. Garry promptly responded and recommended a combination of three tours since we wanted see so much. We booked the Times Square, Greenwich Village, and Wall Street tour.

This was the best thing I have done since first coming to NY. Garry is awesome and makes you feel as if you have a new friend. On a side note we also took another food tour on Saturday ... We couldn't stop comparing it to Garry's tour. It didn't come close to our experience with Garry!

    A MUST for visiters!
Gary's description reads that it's like a friend showing you around - I couldn't agree with him more! Even when I booked the tour, Gary was so helpful - I had asked if he knew of a good car service and his recommendation was awesome - he knows his stuff!

Our tour guide was Sarah - she is incredible! We learned so much about the history, heritage, food, culture, and architecture of Greenwich Village. Traveling with a group of six ladies, we all agreed that this tour, and specifically, Sarah, was the definite highlight of our trip. Sarah empowered us with so much information that after the tour, we felt comfortable enough to hop on the subway, stop at a different station, (close to shopping), and walk back to our hotel. This is something we would have been terrified to do before the tour. I would highly recommend Manhattan Walking Tour to anyone interested in learning about and tasting New York's best kept secrets!

Manhattan Walking Tour is the best way to see and learn about different areas of NY.  We enjoyed our adventure with Manhattan Walking Tour from the time we entered the visitors center on Broadway.  The day went so quickly and we left with an abundant amount of knowledge about New York City.  I must say that the food in Greenwich Village was the highlight of the tour.  We were all stuffed by the end of the tours.  One of the best decisions we made was to take the Manhattan Walking Tour.

Garry was FANTASTIC. If you are looking for a generic, dates and names type of tour, this is not for you. If you want someone who will treat you like he cares about your interests, get you talking and laughing while learning about the rarely-heard stories, this is the guy! Be sure to do the times square and greenwich village tours. The food and company was great! I will be sure to recommend this to friends and family, and will definitely go with MWT when I am back! Thanks!

My family was visiting the city recently and decided to splurge on a walking tour; it was worth it. We were actually touring during the pride parade, which cut off our tour route, but Garry just took us on an off the cuff tourin a different direction without missing a beat. It really couldn't have been better. For us, hearing what date so and so did such and such doesn't mean a ton. Garry was explained the city's quirks and niches, the things that make New York what it is. Why do Brownstones have tall stairways? To avoid the smell of manure before the car was invented of course! I've lived in Manhattan for about 9 months now, but i was surprised by just about everything in this tour. This tour is a true New Yorker's tour. If you really want to get to know the city, not just which building is the Empire State Building, check out Garry

I was surfing the net and found some reviews about the Manhattan Walking Tour. After reading a lot of positive reviews, I decided I would sign my family up for a Times Square tour with a Greenwich Village tour with snacks. At first, I think my wife was skeptical but I went ahead and signed us up before she could object too hard. FULL DISCLOSURE: When we arrived for our tour I was a little  bit disappointed that we did not get Garry as our tour guide. I had read so many positive reviews, that I was looking forward to having him show us the sights. We did meet Garry, but we had Alex as our tour guide. Within minutes, I was fully comfortable with Alex and by the end of the tour I am sure we got the best tour guide there is (no offense Garry!). My wife and daughter were completely won over by his personality and his flexibility. My 9-year old son had the bladder the size of a peanut that day and Alex was always gracious in finding us bathrooms and actually extended the tour a little longer so that we could see everything. My 13- year old daughter said this was one of the best things that we did in NYC and I will have to agree. Some of the best money we spent! The next time I am in NYC, I definitely plan on booking another tour with Manhattan Walking tours and hopefully we can get Alex as our guide! You guys rock! A special shout out to Bill who was training with Alex that day....he could tell that my son was a little bored and went out of his way to show him cool things that only a nine-year old could appreciate. Now that is service!

A great tour, a lot of history.
No 2 tours will ever be the same. This would be great if you have never been to NYC, or if you have been to an area and never truly explored it. If you are looking for the true New Yorker experience, this is the guy to go with. The food made it a lot of fun, just wish we had better weather for it. It seems expensive, but food isn't cheap, in general in the area. I will definitely be looking for another tour.

When I was planning this trip for my office of 23 people from Sweden, Garry made my life a lot easier! Garry was really easy to get a hold of when it came down to planning all the particulars of the trip and he and his group were more than accommodating to our large group! Although the first day it was hailing in NYC, Garry kept up the spirits of the group and made NYC seem so exciting! The following day, we did a walk from Chelsea to the Financial District and he kept us all oLafond for our prior engagement that afternoon (which is quite an effort to get such a large group to stick together!). It was apparent that Garry and his crew are passionate about the city, cared a lot about our needs/scheduling and that they even enjoyed the time they spent with us as well. I would recommend this walking tour to anyone that wants a first hand, entertaining and fact-full way of seeing Manhattan!

Hi Garry ~  I thought of you the whole time after we left you on Friday; I love that you call it the OMG Tour!  I really need to find some other phrases to convey my wonder and delight.  Did you get the feeling that the tour was an incredible time for us?  We talked about returning and dragging you along to do some more touring – it was just perfect.   EveryManhattenWalkingTour website and the reviews were right on – it was all that I / we hoped for – thank you thank you thank you!

Ever since I got home from New York people around me have been asking: What was the best thing about New York?
and my mind immediately goes to Gary and ManhattenWalkingTour. Gary opened my eyes to a huge, exciting – and at first glance – unmanunmanagebley.

He not only showed me the monuments, but he showed me the heart of the city. He got my state of mind to being New York, my heart to beat for New York, my soul to feel part of
New York and even my walking was “the new york way”. New York can seem so confusing, overwhelming and unmanageble, but Gary knows his way around better than anyone else
and he adjust the tour based on who he is giving the tour to. You will never hear him say the same things twice – not even about the same place.
Gary contributed to giving me the best vacation I remember. He got me to love New York as he took me behind the facade of this pulsing, thriving big city and for being who he is,
Gary is not a guide to me, but a friend. New York would never have been the same without him or the knManhattenWalkingTour/font>
Whatever age you are, interest or hope you have for your vacation to New York, Gary can give you it all – and more! WHATEVER you need, you let him know
and he knows where you can get it. I will be forever thankful since the only thing I am sorry for is not having enough days to spend anotherMWTo or ten hours with Gary.
I will never go to New York now without ManhattenWalkingTour or Gary being the thing I will look forward to seeing again the most!

I am so glad I happened upon MWT. Their tours blend a great mix of history, character, wMWTing, and most importantly! I saw Times Square through a totally different light after the tour and immediately signed up for a tour of the Village. It was awesome to walk down streets I had been down dozens of times and yet learn new things. Next I plan to do the tour of Chinatown!

Garry is the Dude! I love the guy! Even if you live in NYC for a while, I guarantee that Garry will show you things about this city you had no idea about. Feel like an instant New Yorker!! I’ve worked in the tourism business in other areas, and after moving to New York earlier this month for school, decided to learn more about my new home and see how NY tour guides show others their city. My first walking tour with ManhattanWalkingTour.com was surprisingly fun, super informative, and has completely convinced me that I’ve chosen the right city to live in and the right tour guide to show me around! You don’t get just the obvious landmarks pointed out to you – you get the inside scoop on how the historical events unfolded, who was responsible, and how it affected the rest of the city. And the fact that the tours are on foot mean that you can see the tiny hidden secrets of New York that bus tours gloss over. Their walking tours make history come alive and thankfully they have many Manhattan tours to choose from! I will be back!!

Best Way to Take a Tour of New York City!!!! I met Garry by chance and the sun must have been shining on me that day, because I got lucky. I was lost out my mind trying to find Central Park on my phone GPS. Finally, I decided to go back to my hotel that I was staying at and happened upon Garry and asked him. He gave me the mini tour of Times Square. I learned so much just in the 10 minutes we talked than I could have learned coming here several times. He is so passionate about New York and you can tell in the way he tells his historical stories of this area. If and when I come back to New York – and I will be back – I am going to stay at the same hotel and I am going to catch a show and I am definitely going to call Garry for a walking tour of the city. It is literally the only way to experience the city by getting out there and walking it. However, you won’t learn anything by just walking it, you need a tour guide telling you about the history of it. Garry I really look forward to coming back and visiting with you again. Sincerely, Amy from California

As a native New yorker, I learned so much new info. It was like seeing the city for the 1st time. My cousins adored our guide Gary. He was charming. Best New York City Tour! We picked up a little “Manhattan Walking Tour” card at the airport when we landed in NYC for a holiday. It turned out to be the best tour we ever took in USA! Born and bred old-time New Yorker, Garry embodied the essence of this fascinating city. Garry will show you sides of New York you never knew. He contextualised history, bought unique NYC archtecture into life, took us to the best coffee shop and hotdog place – warts and all and so much more!! His tours are truely beyond the realmDisneyficationuide book money can buy. Garry’s tour is extremely personable, unlike many other tours that just shuffle masses of humanity around. My advice? If you have an afternoon or longer in NYC, booking Garry for a tour is a MUST. Whether you are a fLeenatime tourist in NYC, or a local resident, this would surely be a tour to remember in years to come. Oh, don’t forget to ask Garry why he chose the building with a dome for his brochures!!

I love Manhattan Walking Tour I went on a tour with Manhattan Walking Tour, after spending so much time in New York on my own. I was amazed by the many facts and history that I didn’t know even though I’ve been in New York so much. It’s definitely worth the money and I tell all of my friends – even the ones that lives in New York to take a took. I can recommend the Greenwich Village tour.

Best tour ever

My name is Michele. I’m from Connecticut and I take a tour with MWT almost every time I come to NY.
My adopted daughter, Emma, is from China and I was looking for a tour that allowed both of us to explore her heritage. The problem was that there was no tour that addressed all of our needs. Garry, at ManhattanWalkingTour.com, proMmmhs custom tours. He found shopping that had all the things my daughter wanted and an Asian bookstore that had books in English for me to learn and teach my child.
Now it’s like visiting my Uncle Garry and having him show us around NY. Even after 3 tours of Chinatown we still discover something new and different.
If you don’t want a canned view of NY, this is the tour for you. No matter how many times you take it.

Holbaektudent that loves to travel to New York. I always see to get the most out of my trips without spending too much money. Recently I decided to go on a walking tour and a friend recommend Garry’s manhattan walking tour.
I LOVED IT!
He has so many stories about the neighborhood to tell, so much insight. I really enjoyed the 2 hours …of walking around – worth the money I spend.
So happy that I didn’t decide to go on the regular bus tour. That just wouldn’t have been the same.. Can the bus even drive on the small charming streets in Lower Manhattan?
And don’t get me started about the snacks … Mmmh!
I recommend people to talk to Garry ..

He is so passionate about New York and you can tell in the way he tells his stories.
